Organised by the Darvel Music Company, a not for profit community organisation, this prestigious festival is celebrating its 15th anniversary. Over 260 national and international acts have performed at the town hall venue including; Paul Carrack, Eddi Reader, Hue and Cry, Glen Tilbrook, Hamish Stuart, Phil Cunningham, Aly Bain and Eric Bibb. The first concerts will take place on 2 December with Scottish Celtic rock/traditional music award winners Skerryvore headlining. The band have been favourites at Darvel for many years and their show is one of the festival’s most eagerly anticipated nights. They will be joined on the bill by the quirkily named Irish traditional music champions, Socks in the Frying Pan and rock based local favourites, the Colin Kennedy Band. The final show on 3 December will feature ex- Silencers JJ Gilmour with his full band and special guest Terry Sharpe, previously of the Adventures. JJ has been lauded for years as one of the best singer song-writers in Scotland and his live performances never disappoint. Two superb exponents of alt- country/rock will join the line-up namely, Dropkick and First Charge of the Light Brigade and local band The Railwaymen will get things underway on the night. Costs: 2 Dec - £22.50: 3 Dec £17.50
